Holiday Calendar

Naturebreak UK holidays will introduce you to the nature and wildlife of the UK including the Lake District and other special places in England. Our Eco-holidays are relaxed educational and environmentally-friendly programmes which enable you to chill out and enjoy your holiday while we think about organising each day.

We generally programme 6 hours of planned activity  each day.  Each day will have a relaxed start, a main activity and an evening activity. All activities are optional but may need to be booked in advance, as numbers are limited. All regular activities will be fully guided, although there may also be some extra self-guided activities, and there will be space in each day for you to enjoy the fantastic scenery and wildlife on your own, or just to chill out and meet some new friends.

Our guides are experts in their own fields and will take you to some of the best natural venues in the area – many of which don’t feature in wildlife or tourist guides (but we live there!). Our guides are able to help explain whatever we find, whether you are 8 or 80 years old, and whatever level of knowledge and experience you have. We will also carry field guides and field equipment for you to borrow. Group sizes will be limited to 12 people, so you won't be crowded out.

A week’s programme will be very varied to appeal to every member of the group. Most weeks will include short walks to venues (no more than 4 miles on easy terrain), a range of different types of site, one day with a journey in rafted canoes to look at lake wildlife. We will be interested in, watch and learn about, all aspects of the natural world: mammals, birds, insects, flowers, fungi and geology. Our summer schedule for 2010 is listed below.

We will vary the programme to match what is available to see, the weather, and the interests of the group.
